Loess Hills: These artfully sculpted, windblown soil deposits reach more than 200 feet above adjacent valleys and flank Iowas western border. Nowhere else but China do they reach such heights. A Scenic Byway winds through the hills. Waubonsie State Park (25 miles from RRInn) features walking and separate horse trails through the Loess Hills.
